The FinTech World Cup (FWC) Grand Finale, held during the Dubai FinTech Summit, concluded with startups receiving over $9.25 million in committed investments.
The event, hosted by Trescon in partnership with Dubai FinTech Summit, VISA, Emirates NBD, and Amazon Web Services, featured intense pitches from 15 regional finalists.
APPRO, emerging as the winner, secured an on-the-spot investment of $500,000.
Other notable commitments included $5 million to Finix196 by Dhruv Management, $3 million to Alpha Stream by Motive Partners, and $750,000 to Validus by Aum Ventures.
Mohammed Saleem, Founder and Chairman of Trescon, expressed enthusiasm about the summit’s role in fostering FinTech innovation and providing crucial capital.
Naveen Bharadwaj, Group CEO of Trescon, highlighted the additional benefits for the winners, such as mentorship opportunities, Trescon Credits, and Amazon credits, aimed at accelerating their growth and industry recognition.
The jury, composed of leaders from the FinTech industry, evaluated the presentations.
The event also enjoyed support from global corporate partners including VISA and Emirates NBD, underlining its importance as a platform for addressing real-world financial challenges through innovation and collaboration.
