Malaysia’s courier, express, and parcel (CEP) market is projected to reach RM6.86 billion next year, fueled by rising e-commerce demand and infrastructure improvements, Deputy Communication Minister Teo Nie Ching said.
Teo urged local CEP companies to capitalize on this growth by leveraging government policies and initiatives aimed at supporting sector expansion.
She highlighted the courier industry’s vital role in the Malaysian economy, noting it generated RM5.7 billion in revenue and created over 200,000 jobs in 2023.
“Malaysia’s aggressive digital transformation policy has caught the eyes of global investors from the technological space,” Teo stated. “The country has secured investments totaling RM73.35 billion for the period up to 2038 from global technology giants such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Corp, Google LLC, and Oracle Corp.”
Teo emphasized that the CEP sector is a critical pillar for enabling e-commerce and supporting small businesses, which are essential for sustained economic growth.
The Deputy Minister’s comments reflect Malaysia’s strategic focus on enhancing digital infrastructure and attracting significant foreign investment.
With continued government support and increasing digital adoption, Malaysia’s CEP market is well-positioned to sustain robust growth and contribute significantly to the nation’s economic development.
