V3 Group’s LAC acquires French supplement brand Masquelier’s

The acquisition gives LAC ownership of the intellectual property and scientific heritage behind Masquelier’s, including its extraction expertise and research supported by clinical studies.

LAC Global, the health and wellness supplements arm of Singapore-based V3 Group Limited, has acquired Masquelier’s French Pine Bark Extract and its patented technology as it expands its science-backed product portfolio.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Masquelier’s was developed from the work of French scientist Professor Jack Masquelier, a pioneer in the research of oligomeric proanthocyanidins, or OPCs—plant compounds studied for their antioxidant properties.

The acquisition gives LAC ownership of the intellectual property and scientific heritage behind Masquelier’s, including its extraction expertise and research supported by clinical studies.

“Health is becoming one of the defining priorities for consumers globally. People are living longer, but the opportunity is to help them live better,” said Ron Sim, founder and executive chairman of V3 Group.

“The acquisition of Masquelier’s brings decades of European nutritional science into LAC, strengthening the scientific foundation of our portfolio,” he added.

Masquelier’s is also the originator and trademark holder of Masquelier’s Anthogenol, an OPC supplement brand sold across the Asia-Pacific region. More than 250 million tablets of Masquelier’s French Pine Bark Extract have been sold to date, according to V3 Group.

LAC said the acquisition would support its goal of building a mass-premium wellness brand originating in Asia for global consumers.

The company operates more than 250 stores across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. It also has franchise operations in Mongolia, India, Indonesia and Thailand, alongside a growing e-commerce business.

Its products are available in selected markets across Africa, the Middle East and South America.

LAC plans to deepen its presence in existing markets and explore further expansion across Asia-Pacific and internationally. It will also invest in nutritional products focused on preventive health, healthy ageing and changing consumer wellness needs.

Headquartered in Singapore, LAC specialises in nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbal products. V3 Group, whose roots trace back to wellness technology company OSIM, has businesses spanning wellness, luxury gourmet products, capital markets, real estate and integrated healthcare services.
