Philippines: dotTV to launch on Cignal Channel 107

The agreement was formalized between dotTV chief executive Juniño Padilla and Cignal TV Vice President and Head of Industry Relations and Regulatory Affairs Erwin Galang, securing Channel 107 as dotTV’s official slot on the platform.

Digital media platform dotTV is set to make its broadcast debut on Cignal Channel 107, following the finalization of a channel allocation agreement with Cignal TV Inc., in a move that signals its expansion into nationwide pay television.

The agreement was formalized between dotTV chief executive Juniño Padilla and Cignal TV Vice President and Head of Industry Relations and Regulatory Affairs Erwin Galang, securing Channel 107 as dotTV’s official slot on the platform.

The development will allow dotTV to extend its reach beyond digital audiences and into millions of Filipino households subscribed to Cignal, one of the Philippines’ leading pay TV providers.

The partnership underscores a broader shift among content platforms toward hybrid distribution models that combine online streaming with traditional broadcast channels.

Padilla said the move positions dotTV to scale its content delivery and strengthen its presence across multiple platforms, as competition for audience attention intensifies in the local media landscape.

“With Channel 107, we are able to bring our content closer to more Filipinos, expanding access and creating new touchpoints for engagement,” he said.

Cignal, for its part, continues to broaden its channel lineup as it seeks to enhance content offerings and cater to evolving viewer preferences, particularly as audiences increasingly consume media across devices.

Industry observers say the collaboration reflects a growing trend of digital-first media brands entering conventional broadcast distribution to accelerate audience growth, particularly in markets where television remains a dominant medium.

dotTV said its programming will feature a mix of news, opinion, and entertainment content, aimed at delivering timely and accessible storytelling to a broad audience.

While the company has yet to disclose its full programming slate or official launch date, it said preparations are underway for its rollout on Channel 107, marking a key milestone in its expansion strategy.

The launch comes as Philippine media companies continue to adapt to shifting consumption habits, balancing digital innovation with the enduring reach of broadcast television.
