Mesa Well targets Philippine market with Cebu experiential showroom launch

The company aims to expand local sales from about 5% currently, with roughly 95% of revenue still tied to the US through a partner distribution network.

Cebu-based furniture and interiors maker Mesa Well Philippines is stepping up efforts to grow its domestic footprint, launching its first experiential living sample suite as it seeks to convert local demand into a larger share of its business.

The company, which has operated for 35 years and primarily serves export markets, said it aims to expand local sales from about 5% currently, with roughly 95% of revenue still tied to the United States through a partner distribution network.

“As demand grows for more personalized and experience-driven living spaces, Mesa Well Philippines is introducing a new way to explore interior design,” the company said, referring to the unveiling of its Cebu-based sample suite.

Unlike traditional showrooms, the space is designed as a fully functional residential environment, what the company describes as a “livable showroom”, allowing clients to experience how furniture and interiors work in real-life settings.

“We wanted to move beyond static displays and create a space people can actually step into and experience,” said Wella Danoso, interior designer at Mesa Well Philippines. “This suite allows guests to see how intentional design influences not just how a space looks, but how it feels, functions, and brings people together.”

Mesa Well produces handcrafted furniture and bespoke interior pieces using materials such as acacia, walnut, resin, stone and metal, with designs centered on the idea that “the heart of every home is connection.”

The company is positioning its products as export-quality pieces adaptable to local budgets, as it targets homeowners, developers and designers amid Cebu’s expanding property and design market.

Beyond residential clients, Mesa Well is also expanding into commercial and institutional projects. It recently completed about 130 workstations for a call center and is working on new designs for café spaces, reflecting rising demand for more design-driven workplaces.

Mesa Well said sustainability is also part of its strategy, with about 20% of materials sourced from recycled or upcycled inputs, including wood scraps from export production, while most materials remain natural.

Facing competition from lower-priced imports, particularly from China, the company said it is focusing on craftsmanship, durability and continuous process improvements to remain competitive.
