Singapore-based construction technology startup OnSite has raised S$1.7 million ($1.3 million) in a seed funding round co-led by Tin Men Capital and Alter Global, as it looks to digitise communication and data management in the city-state’s S$53 billion construction sector, the company said.
Hustle Fund and Gondor Capital also participated in the round, which will be used to expand OnSite’s engineering team and accelerate product development, including new artificial intelligence features such as predictive risk assessments and project analytics.
Founded by Poh Yong Han and Liam Appelson, OnSite builds an AI-powered messaging platform designed for construction and facilities management teams.
The platform enables users to communicate through voice, text and images while automatically structuring and organising data into a searchable, project-based system that can serve as a legal audit trail.
The startup is targeting inefficiencies in an industry that remains heavily reliant on fragmented tools such as messaging apps, phone calls and paper-based documentation.
These workflows often lead to information loss, project delays and payment disputes, particularly affecting small and medium-sized contractors.
Digital inefficiencies cost Singapore’s construction sector more than S$1.1 billion annually, while globally, poor data management has been estimated to cost the industry about $1.84 trillion, according to the company.
OnSite’s platform supports multiple languages commonly used across Southeast Asian worksites and includes real-time translation, positioning it for regional expansion.
The company is currently in beta with partners in Singapore and Hong Kong and plans to roll out commercially later this year.
