Malaysia’s Catcha Digital said it is acquiring the organiser of the Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB) for RM3.97 million ($840,000), expanding its business-to-business exhibition portfolio into the fast-growing food and beverage sector.
The deal will see One International Exhibition Sdn Bhd, a 60%-owned unit of Catcha Digital, buy a 100% stake in Constellar Exhibitions Malaysia, which runs MIFB, one of Southeast Asia’s largest F&B trade shows.
MIFB, now in its 25th year, drew over 12,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors from 84 countries in 2025, and is expected to attract more than 13,000 attendees this year, underscoring its role as a regional platform linking manufacturers, distributors and hospitality players.
Catcha Digital said the acquisition would complement its existing exhibitions in agriculture and construction, while creating operational synergies through shared sales networks, venue procurement and event management capabilities.
The move comes as Malaysia’s food market, valued at $61.4 billion in 2025, is projected to grow at an annual rate of 6.6% through 2030, driven by domestic demand and the country’s position as a gateway to Southeast Asia’s 680 million consumers.
Catcha Digital, which operates across digital media, B2B expos and IT solutions, has been actively expanding through acquisitions, completing seven deals in 2025 aimed at boosting earnings and strengthening its position in the regional events and media space.
