Standard Chartered Names Jeremy Low Global Head of Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Advisory

Low, who will be based in London, will report to Rajesh Singhi, global co-head of M&A advisory, Standard Chartered said in a statement.

Standard Chartered has appointed Jeremy Low as global head of oil, gas and chemicals for M&A advisory, the bank said on Monday, as it continues to expand its mergers and acquisitions advisory business.

Low, who will be based in London, will report to Rajesh Singhi, global co-head of M&A advisory, Standard Chartered said in a statement.

The hire comes as the bank seeks to strengthen its advisory capabilities in the energy sector and deepen sector expertise across its core markets, reflecting its broader push to scale its global M&A advisory platform.

Low joins from Houlihan Lokey, where he was head of European oil and gas and oversaw the origination and execution of the advisory business. Before that, he served as co-head of investment banking and head of energy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at BMO Capital Markets.

He brings more than 25 years of investment banking experience and has advised clients across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America on both buy-side and sell-side transactions, the bank said.

“I’m pleased to welcome Jeremy to the bank,” Singhi said in the statement. “With deep industry experience and a proven track record, he will support the growth of our M&A advisory franchise, strengthen client relationships and help our clients navigate strategic transactions.”

The appointment underscores Standard Chartered’s efforts to build out its advisory franchise in sectors where it sees strategic growth opportunities, including energy, amid continued dealmaking interest across global oil, gas and chemicals markets.
