Philippines: DotTV Network, DYCM Launch Hybrid Radio–Digital Broadcast Platform

The partnership allows listeners to tune in via radio while enabling viewers with internet access to watch programs online through dotTV.

dotTV Network and DYCM dotTV AM-FM Radio have formally launched a joint broadcast platform that combines traditional radio with online streaming, as the media venture looks to expand access to news and entertainment across a wider audience base.

The partnership allows listeners to tune in via radio while enabling viewers with internet access to watch programs online through dotTV, reflecting a hybrid distribution strategy as audience habits increasingly shift toward digital channels.

“This is a partnership between DYCM and dotTV. This is a win-win,” board member Celestino Martinez said during the launch.

He said the setup would make programs accessible to both connected and offline audiences, while giving the network room to further strengthen its content and serve different market segments over time.

dotTV Chairman and Chief Executive Niño Padilla said the venture was driven by a broader ambition to build a meaningful media platform in a period marked by political divisions, corruption and public distrust.

“I am a dreamer. I dream for this. I need believers who will trust me to make this into reality,” Padilla said.

Padilla said dotTV aims to become part of what he described as national healing, urging media practitioners joining the network to use their platforms to help create change.

The company is assembling a team of veteran journalists, editors and broadcasters as it builds out its programming and editorial operations.

DotTV is positioning itself as a digital-first platform while maintaining a radio presence, a model that could help it reach both younger online audiences and communities with limited internet access.

Padilla, a multi-awarded broadcast journalist, previously held management roles at Cebu radio station DYRC, served as a program handler at DZRH, and was appointed to a post under the Presidential Communications Office.

The launch highlights how emerging Philippine media platforms are adopting multi-channel strategies to remain relevant in an increasingly fragmented news environment.
