A new digital media venture, DotTV Network, has soft-launched operations in Cebu, positioning itself as a platform that aims to contribute to national rebuilding amid political and social divisions in the Philippines.
The network, a member of the Philippine Press Club, marked its soft launch with a gathering attended by veteran members of the Cebu media community, including broadcasters, commentators and journalists, signalling its intent to root its operations in established journalistic practice.
Chairman Niño Padilla, a multi-awarded broadcast journalist, said DotTV seeks to be part of rebuilding a nation he described as scarred by political bickerings, corruption and other issues.

Padilla urged media practitioners joining the network to use their voices to create change and support what he called national healing.
Padilla’s career has included management roles at Cebu radio station DYRC, work as a program handler at DZRH, and a stint as a Malacañang appointee under the Presidential Communications Office.
DotTV is positioning itself as a digital-first platform as audiences shift toward online channels that increasingly shape public debate.
While no detailed programming lineup was announced, the network indicated it plans to carry public affairs, commentary and community-oriented content.
The soft launch also highlights Cebu’s role as an expanding base for regional media initiatives outside Metro Manila, as lower distribution costs and social platforms enable local organisations to reach national audiences more quickly.
