NUSTAR Resort & Casino Cebu has signed up COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy, to supply its power requirements, as large commercial sites position for broader access to the country’s retail electricity market from 2026.
NUSTAR said the partnership will support the integrated resort’s “large-scale, world-class operations” across hospitality, gaming, retail and entertainment, where power reliability is critical to day-to-day service delivery.
“At NUSTAR, we are committed to creating a world-class destination where every experience is seamless. Partnering with COREnergy supports that commitment by giving us reliable energy solutions that meet the level of excellence our brand demands,” Trevor Hammond, senior vice president for gaming and integrated resort operations, said.
COREnergy President Francis Del Val said the company will provide competitively priced electricity and analytics through its My Power Platform, which enables customers to monitor consumption patterns and plan operational efficiencies.
The agreement comes as the Energy Regulatory Commission is set to lower the “contestable” threshold to 100 kilowatts starting in 2026, expanding the pool of commercial customers that can choose their retail electricity supplier under the Retail Electricity Supply (RES) framework.
Vivant said more establishments are expected to shift to flexible energy plans paired with data tools to better manage usage and ensure operational stability.
