Philippine Airlines (PAL) said on Wednesday it is expanding access to Siargao by adding new connections via Clark and Cebu, boosting options for travellers to the popular island destination beyond its existing Manila-Siargao service.
The new routes allow passengers from Luzon to fly through Clark International Airport, which the airline said is easily accessible from Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
Travellers may also connect via Cebu, where shorter layovers enable smooth transfers to onward flights to Siargao.
“Granting Siargao alternative air connections via Clark and Cebu addresses the appeal for air access and encourages local tourism and economic activity,” said PAL Express President Rabbi Ang.
The flag carrier continues to operate direct Manila-Siargao flights, catering to both domestic passengers and international visitors connecting through the capital. PAL said one-way base fares for Economy Class on the route start at 4,388 pesos ($77).
Cebu-Siargao flights are aimed at both tourists and business travellers from the Visayas and Mindanao, offering fast access to the island’s surf breaks and resorts.
PAL added that the expanded services support local communities by attracting visitors and diversifying travel flows.
Siargao, known as the Philippines’ surfing capital, has become a leading domestic and international tourist draw.
PAL said its expanded services align with the government’s push to boost regional tourism and connectivity.
The airline, Asia’s oldest commercial carrier, operates out of hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao, serving 31 domestic and 38 international destinations with a fleet of Boeing, Airbus and De Havilland aircraft.
