Singapore’s AIGP Health Secures First HSA Class A Nod for AI Clinical Assistant

The approval clears the way for the Singapore-based startup to roll out its platform to general practice clinics and telehealth providers across the country, and eventually overseas.

AIGP Health, a clinician-founded health technology firm, said it has received Class A regulatory approval from Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for its AI-powered clinical assistant, the first company in the city-state to secure such a designation.

The approval clears the way for the Singapore-based startup to roll out its platform to general practice clinics and telehealth providers across the country, and eventually overseas.

Developed by a team of practising doctors, the platform uses natural language processing to assist healthcare professionals with real-time note-taking, patient data summarisation and consultation prompts.

The system is designed as an aid, with all medical decisions remaining under physician control, in line with HSA guidelines for low-risk medical software.

“Regulatory approval isn’t just a milestone for us, it’s an affirmation of our belief that technology can support, not substitute, the human touch in healthcare,” said Dr Anindita Santosa, co-founder and chief executive of AIGP Health.

The regulatory green light allows the company to move beyond pilot programmes into broader deployment, Santosa added, saying the tool aims to reduce administrative work for doctors and strengthen continuity of care for patients.

Singapore regulators have in recent years emphasised that artificial intelligence in medicine should augment, rather than replace, clinical judgement, as part of a wider framework for responsible adoption of digital health technologies.
