Pollina will report to SC Ventures CEO Alex Manson and matrix into Mandy DeFilippo, Standard Chartered’s CEO for the U.S. and Americas.

SC Ventures and Standard Chartered’s Corporate Investment Banking division have appointed veteran finance executive Lisa Pollina as Vice Chairman, Americas, as part of plans to expand their regional presence and deepen key partnerships, the bank said on Thursday.

Pollina, named among American Banker’s “Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance,” will report to SC Ventures CEO Alex Manson and matrix into Mandy DeFilippo, Standard Chartered’s CEO for the U.S. and Americas.

“For SC Ventures, Lisa’s leadership will be critical in growing our presence in the region,” said Manson. “Her experience and global networks will help deepen partnerships and identify fundraising opportunities.”

Pollina previously held senior roles at Ares Management, RBC Capital Markets, and Bank of America Securities, where she oversaw financial institution groups, venture capital, and private equity sponsors.

She serves on the boards of Munich Re Americas and NESR, is active with the Atlantic Council, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

For SC Ventures, she will advise on its Portfolio Management Committee and other forums, while for Standard Chartered’s CIB business, she will focus on cultivating high-value relationships with corporate and financial institution clients.

Pollina holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and has taught corporate finance at the University of Chicago. In 2021, she was named a Dame in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, recognizing global service and leadership.

Her appointment underscores Standard Chartered’s push to increase cross-divisional collaboration and reinforces its growth ambitions in the Americas, the bank said.

SC Ventures builds and invests in ventures beyond banking, while Standard Chartered operates in 53 markets globally and is listed in London and Hong Kong.
