Philippines: Globe Announces Limited Impact from Crowdstrike Software Issue

A global IT outage caused by a Crowdstrike software issue has affected Microsoft Windows systems, leading to service disruptions across various industries and key sectors worldwide.

However, Globe Telecom has reported that its core services remain unaffected by the incident.

According to Globe Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio, the issue was primarily limited to a few Windows-based workstations used by employees and some servers that do not significantly impact the company’s core services.

“The issue was isolated to a few Windows-based workstations that our employees use for work for the most part, and some servers that do not materially affect our core services,” Bonifacio said.

Globe reassured its customers that essential services, including call, text, and data connectivity, continue to operate normally despite the global IT disruption.

The company remains vigilant and continues to monitor the situation to ensure the stability and security of its services.
