HKMCA Rolls Out ‘Panda Mode ON!’ Campaign to Boost Retirement Planning Awareness

It highlights the need for lifelong income and longevity risk management through the HKMC Annuity Plan.

HKMC Annuity Ltd (HKMCA), a subsidiary of The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation, has launched a six-month public education campaign aimed at encouraging retirement financial planning among the city’s aging population.

Branded as “Panda Mode ON!”, the campaign uses the image of a carefree panda lifestyle to symbolize the goal of a stable and worry-free retirement.

It emphasizes the importance of creating a lifelong income stream and managing longevity risk through structured financial planning, particularly via the HKMC Annuity Plan.

The initiative includes a multimedia promotional rollout comprising television commercials, outdoor and digital advertising, and social media content.

Complementary public outreach activities will take place across Hong Kong, such as a booth at the 10th Golden Age Expo and Summit 2025, five roving exhibitions at Ocean Park and shopping malls in key districts, as well as a promotional truck and educational information panels.

To further enhance understanding of the annuity plan, HKMCA has expanded its “Mr. Well-Planned” educational series.

These materials depict everyday scenarios that demonstrate how the annuity plan functions as a financial safeguard during retirement.

A new interactive webpage has also been introduced to provide quick access to frequently asked questions and relevant information.

The campaign aligns with broader efforts to address Hong Kong’s demographic challenges, as an aging population increases the demand for secure, long-term financial solutions.

HKMCA’s initiative seeks to improve public knowledge and engagement with retirement planning tools that promote financial stability in later life.
