Philippines: Globe Opens Micro Shop in Boracay to Expand Access to Digital Services

Globe Telecom has opened a Micro Shop in Boracay, aiming to bring its full range of mobile and broadband services closer to residents and the island’s growing tourist population.

Located at eMall in Station 3, the new store provides prepaid and postpaid mobile services, broadband, and lifestyle offerings to meet the needs of both locals and travelers.

The initiative reflects Globe’s commitment to customer care and accessibility, the company said.

“We’re proud to bring the Globe experience even closer to the community of Boracay,” said Chai Alano, Vice President of Channel Management Group at Globe. “More than a store, this Micro Shop is a physical expression of our malasakit—our care—for our customers and each other. It enables us to serve better, faster, and more meaningfully.”

Boracay, home to around 37,000 people, drew over 375,000 tourists in the first two months of 2025, according to the Malay Municipal Tourism Office.

Visitor numbers are projected to reach 2.2 million this year, up from 1.7 million in 2024.

To support this surge, Globe has upgraded network infrastructure across the island, building over 40 new cell sites and deploying 30 outdoor 5G locations.

It has also added 50 towers throughout Aklan province.

The Micro Shop highlights Globe’s role as a digital enabler and partner in regional development.
