Philippine Airlines (PAL) unveiled a dynamic booking and selling platform through its integration with the New Distribution Capability (NDC) powered by Amadeus, aiming to modernize how it engages with travel partners and end customers.
The NDC standard, developed by the International Air Transport Association, allows airlines to distribute rich content directly to agencies and other intermediaries.
PAL said the move would enable travel partners to access passenger preferences, including flight schedules, seat selections, prepaid baggage and in-flight meal options, in real time.
Justin Warby, PAL’s vice president for sales and distribution, said the effort was “in line with PAL’s commitment to modernize distribution methods and deliver benefits for distribution partners and customers.”
He added that the carrier expected enhanced transparency and efficiency across its global network.
Under the new arrangement, partners can connect to PAL’s NDC platform via three channels: Connect API, which integrates with existing travel agency ticketing solutions; Connect Hub, a ready-to-use portal; and Connect +, for access through aggregator platforms.
PAL said the system would operate alongside its existing Global Distribution System (GDS) to ensure a seamless transition for all stakeholders.
The rollout will begin in key outbound markets, including the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
PAL joins more than 60 international carriers that have adopted the NDC standard to offer personalized ancillary products and improve distribution efficiency.
Founded in 1941 as Asia’s first commercial airline, PAL operates a mixed fleet of Boeing, Airbus and De Havilland aircraft.
It serves 31 domestic destinations and 38 international points across Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East from its hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark and Davao.
The airline also supports cargo and charter services, catering to both business and leisure travelers, including millions of overseas Filipinos.
