Cebu Pacific Signs Deal with Lufthansa Systems to Boost Operations, Crew Efficiency

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest carrier, has signed an agreement with Lufthansa Systems to adopt its NetLine suite for operations control and crew management, as the airline pushes forward with plans to expand its network across Asia.

The agreement was formalized during the Paris Air Show and marks a key investment in Cebu Pacific’s internal infrastructure as it prepares to scale operations with a current fleet nearing 100 aircraft.

The NetLine suite is expected to enhance automation across Cebu Pacific’s flight operations and crew planning processes.

The platform analyzes real-time data, including weather conditions, airspace limitations, and aircraft performance, to enable quicker and more informed decision-making during disruptions.

The crew management module, co-developed with aviation tech firm ROIS/Pi, incorporates machine learning and optimization algorithms to improve roster planning, reduce scheduling cycles, and support crew wellbeing.

Cebu Pacific aims to reduce operational costs, strengthen compliance, and improve customer experience through the system, which will streamline aircraft assignment, trip trading, and regulatory management.

“This partnership is central to enabling the scaling of our operations,” said Mike Szücs, Chief Executive Officer of Cebu Pacific. “We’re investing in world-class systems that will enhance safety, operational resilience, efficiency, and crew wellbeing as we grow our fleet and expand our network across the region.”

Implementation of the system will begin in 2025 and will cover fleet and resource planning, pre-operations, and real-time operational control. Lufthansa Systems CEO Stefanie Neumann said the collaboration aims to build a scalable and future-ready platform for the airline.

Cebu Pacific operates 37 domestic and 26 international destinations and maintains hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, Iloilo, and Davao. The airline’s current fleet of 98 aircraft includes Airbus A320, A321, A330, and ATR aircraft, making it the youngest jet fleet in the country.
