Globe Telecom has called on its customers to ensure their information is up to date on its SIM registration platform, in line with the SIM Registration Act.
The legislation, enacted in December 2022, mandates the registration of all SIM cards to enhance public safety and deter SIM-aided criminal activities.
Customers are reminded to update their registration details if there are changes in their residential address, last name, or government ID.
The process for updating information, which can be done up to twice a year, involves logging into the Globe SIM registration portal, navigating to the registration section, selecting “Edit,” making the necessary changes, and saving the updated information.
Globe has implemented several security measures to protect user data and ensure system integrity, including advanced encryption protocols, live photo capture technology, and limited ID submission retries.
By keeping SIM registration details current, Globe and its customers aim to foster a safer and more secure telecommunications environment in the Philippines. Providing false information or failing to update details could result in penalties under the law.
The company encourages all customers to use the easy edit option launched in June last year to remain compliant and avoid potential disruptions to their mobile services.
