Vietnam’s Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) officially launched Green GSM, the Philippines’ first all-electric taxi service, expanding its Southeast Asian footprint and marking its entry into a fourth international market.
The launch event, held at Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City, was attended by high-ranking Philippine officials, including Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque, Transport Secretary Vivencio Dizon, and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, along with Vietnamese Ambassador Lai Thai Binh and nearly 100 strategic partners across key sectors.
Green GSM’s Metro Manila operations will initially cover 10 out of the capital region’s 16 cities and districts, home to over 13 million people.
The service will operate a dedicated fleet of VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles, offering emission-free, noise-reduced travel in the company’s distinctive cyan-colored taxis — a symbol of its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The entry into the Philippines is part of GSM’s broader “Go Green Global” campaign, following earlier expansions in Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. The company said its local service aims to redefine urban mobility with enhanced safety, service quality, and transparency.
Each vehicle is equipped with the Secure to Safe (S2S) system, which combines real-time monitoring, AI-driven safety protocols, and operational oversight, with a focus on passenger security, especially for women, children, and the elderly. Drivers are professionally trained in safety and customer care.
Fares are transparently metered and displayed via the Green GSM app, which also facilitates bookings. The company is also offering an introductory promotion of PHP 500 worth of Green Points to new users, redeemable for discounts on up to seven rides until August 31.
Founded in March 2023, GSM has positioned itself as a leader in sustainable transport in Southeast Asia. Its Philippine entry reinforces the region’s growing push toward decarbonized, tech-enabled commuting alternatives.
