Acclaimed family business consultant Jon Ramos launched his new book, Legacy in Action, during a high-profile forum in Cebu aimed at addressing the growing need for structured succession and leadership transition in Philippine family-owned enterprises.
The launch took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, ahead of the Legacy in Action: A Family Forum on Leadership, Succession, & Strategic Renewal. The half-day forum was organized by Premier Family Business Consulting
The event targets Gen X founders preparing for retirement and Millennial or Gen Z leaders beginning to take executive roles in their family firms.
Legacy in Action introduces Ramos’s “Two Systems, One Legacy” philosophy—a practical framework developed from his work with over 150 family businesses across Asia.
The book provides actionable strategies to help families navigate complex transitions, strengthen governance, and align multi-generational visions for long-term sustainability.
The forum featured speakers such as transformation strategist Tim Wieringa of Hive17 Singapore, father-son duo Engr. Wilfredo and Engr. Johnlerry Decena of WDA & Associates, and Ronnie and Elijah Gabalda of NIG Marketing.
Sessions included panel discussions, peer case presentations, and a complimentary consultation with senior family business advisors.
Ramos said many founders grapple with how to pass on their legacy without creating internal conflict or losing strategic direction.
Meanwhile, next-generation leaders are seeking clarity and frameworks to lead effectively. The forum aimed to provide a shared platform for both generations to collaborate and build stronger, future-ready organizations.
With succession becoming a critical issue for Philippine enterprises, the event underscored the urgency for families to adopt structured planning to preserve both business continuity and family harmony.
