As Hainan advances its transformation into an international tourism and consumption hub, the island province is set to host the Overseas Tour Operators Hainan Tour 2025 from June 7 to 10 in Sanya.
The four-day global event aims to strengthen inbound tourism and deepen international cooperation in the post-pandemic travel era.
Jointly organized by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, the People’s Government of Sanya City, and China Tourism Group Travel Service Co., Ltd., the event follows the success of the inaugural edition in 2024, which earned acclaim from industry stakeholders both in China and abroad.
This year’s edition, themed “Travel to Meet the World,” will gather 450 tour operators from around the globe, along with representatives from international tourism organizations, airlines, cruise lines, hotel chains, and travel media.
Attendees will explore Hainan’s development as a world-class Free Trade Port and tourism destination.
Key highlights include the Night of Hainan promotional gala on June 7, featuring cultural performances, cuisine showcases, and immersive experiences rooted in Hainan’s intangible cultural heritage.
Information sessions on visa-free access for travelers from 59 countries and expanded direct international flight routes will also be presented to support inbound travel.
On June 8, a series of panel discussions and promotional sessions will engage domestic and overseas tourism leaders in dialogues on Hainan’s competitive positioning, policy innovations, and global tourism trends.
Organizers aim to provide insights into how Hainan measures against other top-tier island destinations and share strategies to strengthen its international appeal.
A dedicated networking area will facilitate one-on-one meetings between overseas operators and local tourism stakeholders, including travel agencies, hotels, scenic attractions, and cultural product vendors.
This session is expected to enhance cross-border cooperation, promote cultural exchange, and accelerate Hainan’s tourism industry modernization.
To maximize visibility, the event will be covered across traditional media, digital platforms, and online travel agencies. Global audiences will have access to curated content highlighting Hainan’s tourism assets and investment potential.
The Overseas Tour Operators Hainan Tour 2025 underscores Hainan’s commitment to becoming a globally recognized destination and a key player in international tourism.
With strategic support from national policy and strong market interest, the event represents a major step in positioning Hainan at the forefront of the global travel industry.
