VinFast Philippines has joined the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker said, marking a strategic step in expanding its footprint in the country’s automotive sector.
The membership aligns VinFast with over 92% of the domestic auto market, represented by CAMPI, which has played a central role in shaping the Philippine automotive industry since its founding in 1995.
VinFast CEO Doan Thi Mai Anh said joining CAMPI would allow the EV firm to contribute to policy development and collaborate with local stakeholders to accelerate the country’s transition to sustainable transportation.
“This milestone marks a significant step forward in our commitment to shaping the future of mobility in the Philippines,” Doan said in a statement.
CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez welcomed the Vietnamese carmaker, calling its entry “a significant milestone” that will help energize the shift toward greener mobility in the country.
VinFast entered the Philippine market in 2024 and has since expanded its portfolio with models such as the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9. It is banking on its VF 6 model to gain traction among Filipino consumers, citing its affordability and strong overseas performance.
Backed by Vietnam’s largest conglomerate Vingroup, VinFast is also rolling out a regional ecosystem that includes EV charging infrastructure and after-sales service networks. The company aims to replicate its domestic model in key Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines.
