Manila to Host Global Logistics Symposium

The Philippines is set to host the 8th Global Symposium of Jay’s Club International Logistics Organization (JCiLO) from May 28 to 31, marking the country’s first time welcoming the annual event that gathers international freight forwarding and logistics professionals.

The symposium, to be held at Hilton Manila Hotel, is expected to draw over 70 local and foreign delegates. The event is organized by Merck-MLI Travel and Tours in partnership with Grandlink Freight International, the only Philippine member of the global logistics alliance.

JCiLO is led by Sri Lanka-based CEO and Global President Jay Linayagamage and comprises freight forwarding companies and logistics-affiliated businesses across various markets. The conference will explore recent innovations in logistics, supply chain management, and quality control.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco will deliver the welcome address on May 29, while Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon will headline the Gala Night on May 31 at Casa Buenas in Hotel Okura.

The symposium forms part of the government’s wider push to expand the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry. Delegates will also participate in a pre-conference heritage tour around Manila and a post-event visit to Subic on June 1.

The event is held under the banner “MICE Philippines: We take your business to heart,” reinforcing the country’s aim to become a hub for global business gatherings.
