MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG), Malaysia’s top e-government service provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore’s SGTraDex to enable seamless cross-border digital trade between the two countries, furthering ASEAN’s push for digital economic integration.
The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding on May 26 at the ASEAN-GCC-China CEO Roundtable hosted by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
The collaboration will explore platform integration between MYEG’s Zetrix blockchain and SGTraDex’s trade data exchange infrastructure, aiming to digitize and verify trade-related records across borders.
The partnership will focus on enabling secure data sharing using blockchain and interoperable digital standards, facilitating the transition from paper-based systems to verifiable electronic documents.
Key initiatives include platform-to-platform connectivity, joint product development, and regulatory coordination.
Backed by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority and a consortium of major banks, ports, and logistics firms—including DBS, PSA, Standard Chartered, and Trafigura—SGTraDex plays a central role in digitizing supply chain finance and logistics data flows.
The deal supports the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement and positions the Malaysia-Singapore corridor as a model for regional digital integration.
It also lays groundwork for potential expansion into China and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The collaboration leverages MYEG’s blockchain infrastructure and Singapore’s regulatory and technology leadership to build a trusted digital trade environment in the region, aimed at enhancing transparency, resilience, and economic interoperability across ASEAN.
