Glance, a Google-backed consumer tech firm, has launched Glance AI, an AI-native commerce platform designed to shift online shopping from keyword-driven search to visually immersive, inspiration-led discovery.
The launch signals a pivotal evolution in how consumers engage with e-commerce, blending deep personalization, predictive intelligence, and generative AI to create real-time, shoppable experiences.
Glance AI is powered by a proprietary architecture that combines predictive commerce intelligence, generative visualization, and real-time orchestration.
At its core, the platform eliminates traditional browsing by allowing users to upload a selfie or image, instantly generating stylized looks tailored to their body, skin tone, and style preferences.
These looks are then mapped to real, purchasable items from over 400 curated global brands, enabling one-tap transactions.
The technology behind Glance AI includes a three-layered deep learning stack. The Commerce Intelligence Model is trained on decades of global shopping data, forecasting behavior and trends with contextual awareness.
The GenAI Experience Model renders photorealistic images using diffusion and geometry modeling, while the Transaction Journey Model anticipates user intent and pairs visualizations with matching products from massive digital catalogs.
The app is currently available on both Android and iOS, with deeper integrations underway across Android OEMs, telecom carriers, smart TVs, and third-party brand websites.
While the initial rollout focuses on fashion, the platform is expected to expand into categories such as beauty, accessories, and travel in the coming months.
Early trials in the U.S. show promising traction: more than 1.5 million active users have signed up, with over 40 million style requests generated.
Nearly half of these users return weekly, and about 40% engage in product discovery journeys. Over 50% either download or share their personalized styles, pointing to strong social virality and user stickiness.
Glance AI also emphasizes data privacy and control, with all services being fully opt-in. Users can save, share, or even set their AI-generated looks as wallpapers, while the platform ensures no unauthorized data usage.
The platform integrates advanced tools such as Google’s Gemini and Imagen models via Vertex AI to enhance realism and personalization.
It also reflects Glance’s broader ambition to transform everyday devices into AI-driven commerce gateways—from smartphones to TVs to digital storefronts.
Founder and CEO Naveen Tewari described the launch as a “paradigm shift,” positioning Glance AI as a platform that doesn’t just respond to consumer intent but anticipates and inspires it.
The rollout marks a bold move in Southeast Asia’s competitive tech landscape, as the region increasingly becomes a proving ground for AI-driven consumer innovation.
