Prudential plc has announced the appointment of Rajeev Mittal as Chief Executive Officer of Eastspring Investments, the group’s Asia-based asset management business, effective July 1, 2025.
The leadership change follows the planned retirement of Bill Maldonado, who will remain an advisor until September to support a smooth transition.
Mittal will be based in Singapore and report directly to Prudential CEO Anil Wadhwani. He will also join the Prudential Group Executive Committee.
His appointment marks a strategic step for Eastspring as Prudential looks to accelerate the growth of its asset management operations across Asia.
With over three decades of experience in asset management, Mittal brings a strong background in regional and global markets.
Prior to joining Eastspring, he was Managing Director and Head of Asia at Fidelity International, overseeing operations in Asia Pacific and the Middle East (excluding Japan).
His earlier roles included leadership positions at AIG and PineBridge Investments, where he served as CEO in both Europe and Asia Pacific.
Maldonado, who led Eastspring through a period of strategic expansion and organizational realignment, will continue to serve on the board of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited after his retirement.
Eastspring, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential plc, manages $256 billion in assets as of March 31, 2025.
With one of the broadest footprints in the region, it offers a wide range of investment strategies including equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternatives, serving both institutional and retail clients across Asia.
