The Federation of Thai Industries’ Petrochemical Industry Club (FTIPC) successfully hosted the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference 2025 (APIC 2025) in Bangkok, spotlighting sustainability, innovation, and collaboration as the region’s petrochemical sector navigates global transformation.
Held from May 15–16 at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, the event gathered over 1,500 delegates from across the globe under the theme “Ensuring a Transformed World Prosperity.” The 43rd edition of APIC marked the third time Thailand has hosted the conference, reflecting its growing role as a regional petrochemical hub.
The conference featured participation from seven core associations — Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, and Singapore — and generated an estimated 145 million baht in economic value, bolstering Thailand’s tourism and services sectors. Organizers expect the event to catalyze deals worth several billion baht.
Executive sessions highlighted pressing industry themes, including the role of chemicals in a sustainable future, female leadership in petrochemicals, and cross-border collaboration on circular economy goals. Top leaders from GC, SCGC, and the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association joined the dialogue, alongside McKinsey & Company.
Sustainability was embedded throughout APIC 2025 via Green Meeting practices, including reduced paper use, waste management, and sustainable catering, in line with Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) guidelines.
APIC 2025 reaffirmed Asia’s strategic role in the global petrochemical industry and set the stage for Japan, the next host, to carry the sustainability dialogue forward.
