SM Foundation has rolled out a new installment of its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers’ Training Program at SM City Consolacion in Cebu, aiming to strengthen the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through sustainable agriculture and market integration.
The latest batch includes 105 farmers from the barangays of Danglag, Panas, Lanipga, and Panoypoy, who will undergo a 14-week training focused on organic farming methods, modern agricultural techniques, and entrepreneurial skills.
The program seeks to enhance food security and income potential by equipping participants with practical knowledge and linking them to SM’s retail channels.
KSK is one of SM Foundation’s long-running community development efforts, launched in 2007, with a mission to empower marginalized farmers.
It is implemented in partnership with St. Isidore The Farmer Learning Center, the Department of Agriculture, DSWD, TESDA, DOLE, DTI, DOST, and SM Supermarket.
The initiative reflects a coordinated push by the private sector and government agencies to improve rural productivity, promote agribusiness, and foster inclusive economic growth.
The Consolacion program adds to a growing network of training centers nationwide, supporting the development of a resilient and market-ready farming sector.
SM City Consolacion also plays a role in this effort, serving as a venue for capacity-building and providing future retail opportunities for participating farmers.
