Microsoft Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) have jointly launched “TechConnect,” a 12-month co-incubation programme aimed at accelerating the growth of startups targeting Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem.
The initiative, part of Microsoft Hong Kong’s annual “HKonnect+” project, will focus on smart city technologies across property tech, marketing tech, and retail solutions.
Applications for the programme are now open to both local and global startups.
“TechConnect” combines Microsoft’s global tech capabilities with HKSTP’s local infrastructure and market expertise to offer comprehensive support across funding, product development, and go-to-market execution.
Startups selected for the programme will receive access to over HK$1.1 million in Microsoft Azure credits, GitHub Enterprise, Azure OpenAI Service, and other tools.
Participants will also benefit from expert-led training, strategy workshops, and an exclusive demo day to connect with investors and enterprise partners.
HKSTP will provide up to HK$100,000 in early-stage funding through its Ideation Programme, co-working space, and access to its broader Incubation Programme for eligible companies.
“This co-incubation programme creates a powerful ecosystem for startups to thrive,” said Henry Li, Head of Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft Hong Kong. “It’s designed to reduce market-entry friction and drive real innovation.”
Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development at HKSTP, added that the programme equips entrepreneurs with “critical resources to transform ideas into impactful technologies.”
The initiative underscores Hong Kong’s growing push to position itself as a hub for tech-driven entrepreneurship and next-generation urban solutions.
