Singapore-based telecom disruptor Firsty has raised S$7.5 million in fresh funding to accelerate its vision of delivering free global mobile data, as it expands across Asia and launches a major partnership with travel tech firm GlobalTix.
Firsty, founded by former Adyen product leads Vince Vissers and Gauthier Thierens, operates a global freemium telecom network offering basic data access in over 160 countries without roaming charges or SIM swaps.
Backed by Speedinvest, Dutch Founders Fund, and senior executives from KPN, Booking.com, Uber, and Adyen, the company has already signed a global deal with Uber and now extends its reach via GlobalTix’s network of over 12,000 resellers including Trip.com and GetYourGuide.
Under the new agreement, Firsty will provide free data access to key travel apps, ensuring tourists remain connected to bookings and transportation without Wi-Fi or top-ups.
The partnership was formalized during a ceremony attended by Singapore’s Minister Grace Fu and Dutch Minister Dirk Beljaarts, symbolizing deeper digital collaboration between Singapore and the Netherlands.
Headquartered in Singapore for its Asia expansion, Firsty has attracted over 600,000 users globally and aims to redefine cross-border connectivity for travelers, expats, and digital nomads. Users can upgrade from the free tier to faster speeds starting at just S$1 per day.
