Carlyle Launches Revera Energy Platform to Expand Clean Energy Projects in Australia, UK

Global investment firm Carlyle has launched Revera Energy, an independent energy infrastructure platform focused on developing, owning, and operating renewable power, battery storage, and green hydrogen projects in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Revera’s portfolio includes assets acquired from Amp Energy and ongoing developments such as the 250MW/700MWh Bungama battery storage project in South Australia.

The platform is advancing a pipeline exceeding 750MW of battery storage, 2.3GW of solar, and 1.4GW of wind projects across Australia’s National Energy Market, alongside the 1GW Cape Hardy Green Hydrogen Project.

In the UK, Revera is progressing over 1.2GW of late-stage battery storage projects aimed at enhancing grid resiliency and supporting national decarbonization targets.

The platform benefits from backing by Carlyle Global Infrastructure, which manages $7.6 billion in assets worldwide, and financing partnerships with institutions including Nomura Infrastructure & Power, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac, Natixis, and Export Development Canada.

Revera’s launch underscores Carlyle’s strategy to expand in the energy transition space by leveraging its global scale and sector expertise.

The platform’s diversified development pipeline aligns with growing demand for sustainable, resilient energy infrastructure amid accelerating clean energy adoption across Australia and the UK.

Carlyle, managing $453 billion in assets globally, aims to create long-term value through investments that support environmental and economic sustainability.
