Granite Asia raises over $250M in anchor commitments for private credit strategy

Granite Asia has raised more than $250 million in anchor commitments for its private credit strategy, Libra Hybrid Capital, ahead of the fund’s formal launch, the investment firm said.

Backed by leading Asian sovereign wealth funds, general partners, and Granite Asia’s founder network, the anchor close highlights growing institutional interest in flexible, non-dilutive financing options for mid-market companies across Asia-Pacific.

Libra Hybrid Capital is already deploying capital, with Granite Asia reporting strong deal flow driven by rising demand from businesses seeking alternatives to traditional equity financing.

The fund targets secured private loans for growth-stage companies, offering borrowers access to bespoke capital solutions while delivering stable cash yields and enhanced returns to investors.

“Libra Hybrid Capital is a cornerstone of our multi-asset platform strategy,” said Jenny Lee, Senior Managing Partner at Granite Asia. “With anchor commitments surpassing half of the fund’s target, we’re seeing strong investor conviction in our differentiated approach to supporting Asia’s next generation of growth leaders.”

The fund focuses on mid-sized businesses—from technology-driven enterprises to traditional firms undergoing digital transformation—and aims to provide strategic value through tech enablement and operational guidance. It is led by Granite Asia Partners Ming Eng and Roger Zhang.

“Securing over US$250 million in anchor commitments before launch underscores institutional confidence in our credit strategy,” said Eng. “It affirms our ability to offer disciplined, on-the-ground access to Asia’s next wave of growth.”

Zhang added that deal demand remains robust, with businesses seeking non-dilutive funding to accelerate both organic and inorganic expansion. “Our early pipeline is proprietary and active, and we’re confident our capital and network can deliver meaningful outcomes,” he said.

Granite Asia’s move comes as global investors increasingly turn to Asia’s private credit markets amid shifting supply chains and evolving regional capital flows.
