PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest integrated telecommunications company, inaugurated its newest data center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna as it moves forward with plans to significantly expand its data center capacity in the country.
The VITRO Sta. Rosa campus, situated on a five-hectare site, is described as the largest data center campus in the Philippines with a capacity of up to 50 megawatts (MW).
The facility is the 11th operated by VITRO Inc., the data center arm of the PLDT group under ePLDT Inc., bringing the group’s total data center capacity close to 100 MW nationwide.
PLDT said the company has finalized the site for its next and largest data center project in General Trias, Cavite.
The upcoming facility will be built on a portion of a 20-hectare property owned by Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and is planned to have a capacity of up to 100 MW, twice that of the Sta. Rosa site.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 with phased capacity rollouts starting at 20 MW.
The expansion is part of PLDT’s goal to increase its total data center capacity to 500 MW in line with regional benchmarks and to position the Philippines as a data center hub in Southeast Asia.
The Sta. Rosa facility features high energy efficiency, advanced cooling systems, and power redundancy, supported by multiple fiber routes from PLDT and other telecommunications providers.
It is also equipped with NVIDIA-powered GPU servers to enable artificial intelligence capabilities.
PLDT said the new data center supports the Philippines’ ambition to attract global digital investments and strengthen its position as a regional hub for digital innovation and economic growth.
