PPDS Sets Sail into Cruise Market with Philips MediaSuite Debut at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays, will make its debut at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 in Miami, unveiling new cruise-specific models of its Philips MediaSuite TVs and a suite of display solutions tailored for the maritime hospitality sector.

The company’s participation in the world’s largest cruise industry event, to be held from April 7 to 10 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, marks its official entry into the growing cruise ship market.

The move is part of PPDS’ broader strategy to expand its hospitality display offerings from land-based hotels to cruise liners and super yachts.

“With new vessels under construction and rising demand for immersive guest experiences, there has never been a better time for us to officially enter the cruise market,” said Jeroen Verhaeghe, Global Business Development Director for Hospitality at PPDS.

The company will showcase its latest Philips MediaSuite TVs—already deployed by Marella Cruises and luxury yacht hotels in Vietnam—at Booth 4405, alongside other professional display technologies designed for ship-wide applications.

These include energy-efficient signage, ePaper displays, interactive screens, and dvLED video walls suitable for wayfinding, marketing, and onboard entertainment.

Originally launched in 2019, Philips MediaSuite has gained traction as the preferred hotel TV in Western Europe, with built-in Chromecast, Netflix readiness, and access to the Google Play Store. Its new maritime range features compact 24” and 32” Full HD models for smaller cabins, and 4K units up to 65” for luxury suites, all designed to withstand maritime conditions and lower energy usage compared to competitors.

Guests can also use the MediaSuite TVs to access IPTV, satellite channels, and onboard services such as spa bookings and excursion reservations. The system clears user data at checkout for added security.

The cruise display market is forecast to grow from $7.67 billion in 2022 to $15.1 billion by 2028, according to Grand View Research, amid rising global interest in cruise vacations, which drew over 35 million travelers in 2024.

PPDS will also highlight its commitment to sustainability through its award-winning zero-power Philips Tableaux ePaper display and the low-energy Philips Signage 3000 Series EcoDesign.

“As cruise operators push for greater sustainability and guest satisfaction, our range of professional displays is designed to meet those evolving needs,” said Scott Adams, Director for Hospitality in North America at PPDS.

PPDS is also aligned with Seatrade’s social impact initiatives, supporting Mercy Ships, a non-governmental hospital ship charity that uses Philips displays for patient care and diagnostics.

“Cruise ships and super yachts have been on our radar for some time,” said Ron Cottaar, Director of Global Marketing. “We’re thrilled to finally be on board and look forward to showing how our solutions can elevate the cruise guest experience.”

PPDS is the professional display division of TP Vision and MMD, both subsidiaries of TPV Technology, and markets Philips-branded displays under license from Koninklijke Philips N.V.
