Thousands of families, advocates, and supporters are set to gather on March 30, 2025, for Happy Walk 2025, a nationwide campaign promoting awareness and inclusion for individuals with Down Syndrome.
Spearheaded by the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Inc. (DSAPI) in partnership with SM Cares, the initiative will feature events in multiple locations, including SM City Cebu, SMX Convention Center Manila, and SM City Bacolod.
With this year’s theme “321 & Beyond,” Happy Walk 2025 aims to celebrate the talents, aspirations, and contributions of individuals with Down Syndrome. The event will include performances, storytelling, and community-building activities, reinforcing the call for greater societal inclusion.
“Happy Walk is not just about taking steps; it’s about making a difference,” said Nill Patrick Arroyo, DSAPI Board Member and Head of Happy Walk 2025. “It reaffirms that individuals with Down Syndrome deserve equal opportunities, recognition, and support.”
Now in its third decade, Happy Walk has grown from a single event into a national movement advocating for the rights and empowerment of people with disabilities.
“SM Cares has been a proud partner of Happy Walk for years,” said Engr. Bien C. Mateo, SM Cares Program Director for Disability Affairs. “This event is a reminder that inclusivity is not just an initiative—it is a responsibility we all share.”
Organizers are encouraging the public to participate by walking, volunteering, or showing support at any of the scheduled venues. Further information is available through SM Cares’ official social media channels.
